Five Things Friday

Good Morning!

It’s been a great week! Work and life having been going smoothly and I am over the moon with all the enthusiasm on my big pregnancy announcement. It’s been fun to share so far and I look forward to sharing this crazy journey.

As always, I’m stopping by to share some random thoughts from the week.

1. I had SO much fun writing yesterday’s story behind my Instagram posts! A few people expressed interest in using the idea for a post, so I decided to turn the post into a link-up. Feel free to share your “story behind the posts” within the next week, I’m leaving it open until next Friday.

2. I got back to working out this week!!! Well, kind of. I had three really good days in row at the beginning of the week and then a bit of a lull. Sunday I did a strength workout and took a long walk with Penny and Rich at the Forest Preserve. Monday I went to spin class. Tuesday I did a strength workout. Wednesday I ate cereal for dinner and went to bed at 7:30pm. Last night I got a massage. I’m hoping to end the week on a good note with a strength workout after work.

3. Speaking of cereal for dinner, I totally jinxed myself with my pregnancy diet. I was feeling so great Sunday-Tuesday but then Wednesday and Thursday were a bit of a struggle. Oh well, all I can do is take care of myself and hope for better days. I joked with Rich last night that he is loving the pregnancy diet, but it’s so true. When I eat cereal for dinner, so does he. When I want ice cream at night, so does he. Carry out every night? No problem!

4. Even though my workout and diet were a struggle this week, I kicked butt at work! If you remember last November I was super burnt out. Flash forward to now and during the same point in my planning cycle I’m cool as a cucumber and sticking to my deadlines. Maybe Rich is right and my pregnancy is mellowing me out!

5. The highlight of my week was receiving mail! Earlier in the week I got a package from Amazon- I finally ordered some Nike Frees, new wristbands for my Fitbit and two books. I was already reading Three Wishes, but I could not wait to break open The Fringe Hours, so now I’m reading both. Nerd alert!

This weekend is shaping up well. Tonight, Rich has Poker Night with coworkers and I have big plans with our couch, RHONY and Scandal. If I want to go all out I’ll get takeout, but cereal is also an option. We will see!

The rest of the weekend I hope to work on my spring cleaning goals, we have dinner plans with friends tomorrow night and I’m hosting a cooking class at Whole Foods on Sunday! The theme is food prep and I can’t wait to share how it goes!
